Wine Castle is a distinctive municipal winery located on a gentle hill in Ikeda, Hokkaido. Officially known as the Institute for Grape and Wine Research, the winery is designed to evoke the appearance of a medieval European castle and has become one of the region’s most recognizable attractions.
Here, local winemakers develop unique grape varieties suited to the Tokachi climate and produce wines characterized by their rich acidity.
