Miharashi Farm

An Agricultural Park Where You Can Enjoy Hands-On Experiences and Seasonal Harvests

Miharashi Farm is a hands-on agricultural park in Nishiminowa, Ina City, Nagano Prefecture. Also known as Habiro Agricultural Park, it is conveniently located about five minutes by car from the Ina Interchange on the Chuo Expressway, making it an easy destination for visitors exploring southern Nagano.

Surrounded by the rich natural environment of the Ina Valley, the park brings together farms, hot springs, a farmers’ market, restaurants, and hands-on activity facilities. It is known as a place where visitors can easily spend an entire day enjoying food, agriculture, nature, and recreation.

At the heart of the park is a sunken lawn area surrounded by seasonal flowers and fruit trees. With activities for both adults and children, Miharashi Farm is particularly well suited to families and groups.

Seasonal Harvests and Hands-On Experiences

One of Miharashi Farm’s greatest attractions is its wide range of seasonal harvesting and craft experiences. Visitors can pick fresh fruit directly from the fields, enjoying the flavors of each season.

Strawberry picking is available from January through June, followed by blueberry picking from July through August. The fruit-picking calendar continues with apple picking from August through November and grape picking from September through October.

The park also offers hands-on experiences connected with traditional Shinshu culture, including soba making, oyaki making, natural dyeing, and bamboo crafts.

At Yatte Mirasshi, the park’s hands-on exchange facility, even first-time participants can enjoy making things with their own hands while receiving friendly guidance from the staff.

Fresh Local Produce at Toretate Market

Miharashi Farm Toretate Market is filled with fresh vegetables and fruits harvested around Ina. Much of the produce is brought directly to the market by local farmers, making seasonal agricultural products one of its major attractions.

The market can become busy from early in the morning, as shoppers come to find fresh local produce. Visitors can also discover unusual products, including ostrich eggs and ostrich-related products that are not commonly available elsewhere.

Local Food at Tomato-no-Ki

At the restaurant Tomato-no-Ki, visitors can enjoy a buffet featuring generous use of locally sourced ingredients. The dishes emphasize the simple, comforting flavors of Shinshu while allowing diners to enjoy the bounty of the seasons.

Outdoor Recreation Surrounded by Nature

Miharashi Farm offers much more than agricultural activities. The park also has facilities where visitors can enjoy the surrounding natural environment through outdoor recreation.

C.A.B Trail Mountain Bike Course

The C.A.B Trail mountain bike course is a highlight for active visitors. The course was supervised by TRAIL CUTTER, a company based in Ina City, and offers routes suitable for a range of abilities, from beginners to experienced riders.

Nearby, Nirinsya Knot provides bicycle rental and maintenance services, making it easier for visitors to enjoy mountain biking without bringing their own equipment.

Panoramic Views of the Ina Valley

From the higher parts of the park, visitors can look across Ina City and toward the mountains of the Southern Alps. On clear days, the elevated location provides an impressive panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.

Miharashi-no-Yu at Mahora Ina Habiro Hot Spring

After enjoying the park’s many activities, visitors can relax at Miharashi-no-Yu, a natural hot spring that emerged in 1994.

This day-use hot spring facility, operated by Ina City Tourism Co., Ltd., features indoor baths, an open-air bath, and a sauna. It is popular with both local residents and travelers.

The open-air bath overlooking the Southern Alps is especially appealing. Soaking in the hot spring while watching the mountains and seasonal scenery provides a peaceful way to relax after a day of outdoor activities.

Family-Friendly Facilities

Miharashi Farm has plenty to keep younger visitors entertained. The Notte Mirasshi kick-bike course allows children to enjoy riding in a safe recreational setting, while a dog run provides space for visitors traveling with their pets.

The park also has an ostrich farm, offering an unusual opportunity to encounter these large birds up close. Together, the animals, outdoor facilities, and agricultural experiences create opportunities for children and adults to discover nature in ways that are difficult to experience in a city.
