Spa World: Onsen from Around the World is a large-scale urban resort in Osaka where visitors can enjoy bathing experiences inspired by different countries around the world. Despite its location in the heart of the city, the facility provides an oasis-like space where guests can relax and spend an entire day.
The complex features 17 types of baths inspired by 12 countries, as well as an all-weather indoor water park known as Spa Poo, which includes two large water slides and a children’s pool.
Another popular attraction is the World Great Bedrock Bath, a large sauna and hot-stone bathing area inspired by eight different countries.
Spa World offers much more than hot springs. Families can enjoy the KIDDY PARK, while visitors can also use the sports gym free of charge. The complex includes a wide range of relaxation facilities, restaurants, and food areas, as well as a hotel with rooms offering views of Osaka’s famous sightseeing areas.
With so many facilities gathered under one roof, Spa World functions as a comprehensive urban resort park and has attracted more than one million visitors annually.
The hot spring facilities are divided into two themed floors. The 4th floor is inspired by Europe, while the 6th floor features an Asian theme. Each floor contains bathing areas modeled on representative bathing traditions from different countries.
The bathing floors are separated by gender, and the European and Asian floors alternate between men and women each month. International decorative elements are incorporated throughout the bathing areas, creating a distinctive atmosphere as visitors move from one themed space to another.
In addition to the hot spring baths, the complex features bedrock bathing areas and saunas. These facilities provide additional ways to relax and enjoy a leisurely wellness experience.
Spa Poo is an all-weather indoor swimming and entertainment area featuring water attractions for both adults and children.
Among its highlights are two large water slides and a dedicated children’s pool, making it an appealing option for families looking for activities regardless of the weather.
Beyond bathing and swimming, Spa World offers a wide variety of entertainment and relaxation facilities.
The Food Zone features a variety of dining options, including a gourmet food court and restaurants such as Tsuruhashi Fugetsu. Visitors can enjoy meals and refreshments without leaving the resort.
Separate areas for men and women offer a range of esthetic treatments and massage services, providing opportunities to relax and refresh after bathing or enjoying the attractions.
The upper floors of the complex contain a hotel with a variety of rooms in both Japanese and Western styles.
Rooms of different sizes and layouts are available, allowing guests to stay overnight and make Spa World part of a longer Osaka sightseeing trip.
Spa World brings together hot springs, swimming pools, saunas, relaxation facilities, dining, entertainment, and accommodation in one large complex.
For travelers looking for a place where they can relax, enjoy indoor activities, eat, and experience Japanese bathing culture without leaving central Osaka, Spa World offers a distinctive urban resort experience.
